This is a full featured search and rescue probe. Initial companion rescue efforts rely more on a quick and efficient search than on probe length since less than two percent of avalanche victims buried more than six feet deep are found alive. This probe is designed for search and rescue (SAR) by outside parties, at which point length and durability become more important than light weight and speed of probing.

The new Quickie tensioning system is lightning fast. Pull the loop back and the new tapered sections slide easily into place. Secure double-cam locks cable to maintain tension. Squeeze the wings to release and dismantle the probe after use.
